“Weddings and Wasabi” by Camy Tang

The only thing I didn’t like about this book is that it was too short!  It was really interesting to catch a glimpse of Asian culture and great cuisine.  I’ve never read anything from this author before, but her words are well-chosen, her characters interesting and believable, and she carefully reminds the readers to “be still, and know that God..is God”.

In “Weddings and Wasabi”, Jen feels the pressure to live up to her (extended) family’s expectations.  As she decides to finally stand up for herself, she comes to realize that she is not alone; she has friends and family to stand behind her and a Great God, who goes before. A lot can change in just a few weeks time, and God has plans for Jen–big ones.

Wish the book could have been longer though…
