With an intriguing twist to the plot, Leslie Gould turns Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing into a classic Amish romance. She even manages to sneak in some of the actual lines as well—reworded, of course. She comes up with great dialogue herself, and masterfully draws spiritual lessons for her characters from the play. More subtly, she answered questions about motivations and plot development of the original using her characters. And she portrayed life to its fullest—Amish or otherwise.
It’s a delightful read which will have you turn pages as fast as you can read them. But beware, you may be tempted to stop reading so you can try out the mouth-lubricating recipe ideas which crop up. Family, Food and Love—it’s an unbeatable combination.
